Duncan, formerly referred to as "Evil Orange" by the people in the neighborhood he frequented, was thought to be a feral aggressive alpha male, so he was trapped and scheduled for TNR. He was pretty beat up and it was obvious he also required some medical attention. Imagine everyone's surprise when the vet techs notified us of his extreme gentle and loving nature and sent photos of him cuddling in their laps! Duncan as he is now called, was temporarily blind from eyes that were swollen shut as well as many extensive wounds and extreme swelling with likely abbesses. Additionally he tested positive for FIV. It became very clear that this sweet natured boy must have been defending himself in all those fights. With his gentle soul and obvious appreciation for the help he was getting as well as his FIV results, Duncan was deemed not suitable for re-release back into the feral population and quickly one of our fosters stepped up to care for this underdog. Getting him on the road to recovery has not been easy as his injuries and overall condition needs ongoing vet care at this time.
