We are desperately trying to figure out Indy's problems. Costs are pretty high and I have several dogs as most know. I have some fosters by myself without official backing.
To tell you about Indy first. He is a precious 10 yr old corgi that has welcomed every foster into our home. He is the ONLY dog we have that started as ours and will end as ours. All of his 13 siblings(fosters and permanent) came from assorted backgrounds and states. He is a mellow and accepting fellow that shows the newbies to stay in line. He is fabulous at guarding the pool steps!
He has always been healthy and energetic but recently started a limp and then went down in the back end. Two vets with 2 different diagnosis told us no hope. One said hip dysplasia the other said disc. I have had 2 dogs w DM and did not present that way and has pain sensation in toes.
I had a bad feeling and didn't want my boy in a wheelchair w no further investigation. Tuesday we went to Blue Pearl in Des Moines and they were wonderful to us and gave us hope. You have to pay upfront so no time to search for help. So here we are slowly getting answers and the hope that he will walk again. He has wbc in his spinal fluid so infectious disease or autoimmune. More testing is being done and I will update!
About me. I have been in rescue for about 20 yrs. Sometimes supported sometimes rogue( my husband has a knack for picking up critters when he travels). I have never asked for any help that I can remember but am currently a lil overloaded. I recently retired from full time to do my passion part time. Right when that happened someone ran a red light and totaled my paid off car and I had some previous medical bills for my bad neck. I already paid 2 other vets for visits and expensive meds for misdiagnosed issues. So just running a lil thin. I do not like to ask for help as having these dogs is my choice but I am just overwhelmed right now and can use anything I can get.
