It truly does take a village to save homeless dogs: From the Networkers who draw attention to them in the shelters in hope of a rescue stepping up; to the pullers who actually pull the dogs out of the shelters for the rescues; to the fosters that supply amazing homes for these dogs to go into; to the donators who fund the rescues to pay for the dogs expenses and many, many more people who work every day trying to save as many as they can.
This particular advocate has been working on the injured and sick dogs in the shelter who are usually automatically euthanized.
We are sorry some of these photos are so graphic but we have some very injured dogs she is working on right now.
Candy, the white one, suffered severe mastitis so badly her mammary glands actually exploded under the pressure of infection. She also had pyometra and needed surgery to ensure she didn't get further infection.
Candy, who is in so much pain, comforted the advocates young son, when he became upset at how ill she is, by giving him gentle kisses.
Murphy the brown and white dog has horrific abscesses. His blood work came back that he couldn't be put under wound care so he needs honey wraps. The poor boy ended up crashing and he needed a blood transfusion. He is horribly emaciated as he was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. Murphy is a gentle soul and even though extremely sick, dishes out kisses to everyone and is just a lover.
The brown one, Oso, was actually walking with a homeless man, limping very badly and the advocate saw them. She approached the man who handed her the leash for her to take him, which she did. He is covered in bite wounds and we have discovered he has been shot! He has broken bones in his leg because of this. The pain must have been unbearable; yet Oso smiles all the time and is sweet with the advocates children and her small dogs and cats.
Three sweet dogs; all in desperate need. As you can imagine, vet bills are going to be enormous. These dogs need our village, which we call you. Please, please help us help them. They are innocent souls who cannot fend for themselves. Please donate to their most urgent fundraiser.
