Raisen loved going to the dog park. But not the reason most dog’s do…
he’d do a round saying hello to the humans to get pats and maybe sniff
a doggo back occasionally.
Then he’d join me and whoever I was with on the bench at Ann Van
Dog park that is under a tree and in the shade.
He’d then sit on there usually for the remainder of our visit except when I’d make him get a drink or when he’d fall through the back (he would forget he was on the bench on occasion and get to comfy so would slide off lol)
On the rare occasion when a new dog and there human entered he’d mosey over to them pretend to say hi to the dog so he could get pats and attention from the human…
But the most important thing was a bench in the shade. Not many dog parks have trees at all let alone benches
So I’m raising funds to purchase a memorial/tribute bench & tree through the Somerset county park association. In the hope that they will place it in either his favorite park or ANY dog park in the county… I’ll reach out to every county in NJ and then other states in an effort to get a bench in the shade in a dog park
In memory of raisen, his snorting and loud breathing and love of sitting on park benches and people watching, smelling the air and getting pats from Hoomans

So let’s help Raisen who was amazing and helped so many people get a memorial bench just because he can! (Regardless of “rules”)
in Somerset county the cost $2,500 or $3,000 for tree & bench or just one (I’ve read different and heard different things lol) please see link for more info from the parks association and also patch did an article on it

Fundraising runs through February currently. When I get them to
agree or find county/park that will do it we will have an unveiling
and dog party/event!
Going for bench $2500 and hoping tree as well $2500 (or maybe not $2500 for both I don’t know lol)
