Black Dog Animal Rescue (BDAR) is Wyoming's largest nonprofit animal rescue. Established in 2008, BDAR rescues approximately 500+ cats and dogs a year throughout Wyoming and the nearby region. Meet Sidney and Chadron. They are alive today because of
generous donors like you.
Born
in a hoarding situation in Western Nebraska, they were rescued from a
filthy, freezing pile of garbage, hidden among the mess and debris of
as many as sixty other dogs. It's a wonder they were even found by
their rescuers.
The dogs were sick, emaciated, infested with parasites, and little used to the sight or touch of humans. Like so many thousands of others, this entire situation could have been prevented had the owner access to and a desire for spay and neuter surgery.
Orphaned puppies (and kittens too) are among the most vulnerable of the pets you help to save. They require round-the-clock care, assistance eating and eliminating, and can fall victim to cold or disease quickly. It is very difficult for shelters or rescues to assume care for them. This is why access to low or reduced cost surgical sterilization is an essential service for most communities, including ours.
Already in 2019, nearly 600 animals have benefited from the generosity of donors. We strive to make the best use of your money by providing innovative foster care solutions for dogs and cats who would never survive a traditional shelter setting. With individualized care and attention, these pets are thriving and are moving on to forever homes at record rates.
