From Cooper’s owner Angela: When I adopted Cooper, I knew he had dry eye. I’d had another corgi with dry eye, Bailey, so Cooper’s breeder chose me to take him. (He had already sired 2 litters before his condition was determined and he was given up because of it.) I rescued Bailey too late in life to be able to help her dramatically with her dry eye. For years, until she passed away from complications due to DM, we kept her eyes lubricated and comfortable.



Cooper is on the same medications that Bailey was on: Tacrolimus, Cyclosporin, eye wash, ointment, and Neopolydex. These are effective in keeping him comfortable, but his quality of life could be greatly improved with a surgery to redirect his salivary ducts to his eyes. Without this surgery he will most certainly go blind, as his corneas have become progressively compromised over the years. The cost to do both eyes is between $4 and $5 thousand. However the surgery will be done for one eye initially and then, if successful, the second eye will be done later in the year. This fundraiser is to pay for the initial surgery only.

Cooper is such a good, sweet, loving boy, and he deserves the best. Unfortunately, as a single Mom with 2 kids (one starting college this fall) I just do not have the funds needed to pay for these procedures myself. That is why I have reached out to Bandit’s BandAid - for assistance with what I know will be life-changing surgery for the best boy one could ask for. Thank you so much.
