Who Are We

February Star Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, family-run sanctuary with a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome and provide refuge for horses and cats in need. We strive to improve the overall health and quality of life for horses and cats by addressing issues such as animal abandonment, animal abuse, cat overpopulation and the high numbers of animal intake and euthanasia. February Star Sanctuary achieves this through equine and feline adoption, fostering and refuge, TNR services, caring for cats of the homeless and community outreach. Additionally, our youth outreach helps children develop compassion for rescue animals at an early age. February Star Sanctuary gives the unwanted a safe, secure home and builds a generation of animal advocates, one child at a time. We believe rescue isn't just a verb, it's a promise.

Why We Help

Horses are one of the four most commonly abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the U.S.. There are over 200,000 “unwanted” horses per year - not including the thousands of unreported cases of neglect and abuse. Also, in the U.S., approximately 3.4 million cats are abandoned each year and nearly 40% of those abandoned cats are euthanized.

December Donation Days As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we rely on donations from generous supporters, like you. Every tax deductible donation, big or small, is integral to our mission. We know our goal of helping as many horses and cats that we can is a big task. We can’t do it alone. That’s where your financial contribution comes in. When you donate, your monetary contribution allows us to direct funding to what we need the most. Make an impact this holiday season and donate to help save the lives of horses and cats in need. Horse and Cat Adoptions With an average of 10 horses available for adoption at a time, there’s a great chance we have the horse for you! Our available horses vary in breed, age and career prospects. Each horse has a unique personality and temperament, along with specific physical and mental abilities. Several horses are currently thriving in our training program and ready for success! Some are perfect for indoor only living, while others thrive when able to enjoy both the comforts of indoors and thrill of outdoors. Available cats/kittens vary in breed, age and personality.
