Hi, my name is Candy and my 2-year-old furbaby Mr. Tyko is in great need of some help. Tyko is a happy, high-energy, fun-loving pitbull mix who exercised every day until this November 1st, 2024. On this day, Tyko went out to go potty just like any other normal day and somehow injured himself really badly. I called his vet, Alpine Animal Hospital, and they suggested we take him into ER Animal Hospital and seek some help for him since they had no availability to see him at this time.
At our visit at Sumner ER Animal Hospital, Sumner, WA, we learned that Mr. Tyko needs surgery ASAP due to the vet speculation of having IVDD Syndrome. Unfortunately, I was one of those pet parents who thought nothing bad would happen like this because Tyko is in really good shape and he was with me 24/7 every day, all day. I was WRONG 😭💔. Tyko has pet insurance through Pet Best, but he injured himself before the policy started. As many of you know, anything before the policy starts, they classify the injury as a pre-existing condition, and insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions.Unfortunately, the Sumner ER Animal Hospital could not give us an estimate due to the facility not being set up for this type of surgery. Sumner ER Animal Hospital told us we need to find a neurosurgeon. Unfortunately, in orderto get any kind of government help we need a diagnosis and this requires to been seen by a neurologist and have a MRI or CT scan. The cost of the Consultation runs $200 to $300 then, the MRI price runs from $3K to $4K and if the MRI doesn't show what they need then he'll need a CT Scan this procedure runs from $6K to $7K.  Due to Tyko current condition he  needs 24-hour care, and so that means I had to leave my job because he can't be left alone, and I refuse to give up on him. He is like my child, and you don't EVER give up on family/friends 💛. That being said, I'm reaching out to the world to see if we can get Mr. Tyko the care he desperately needs.

Please, if you can't help, I'm just asking for you to pass his story around if you don't mind. The more people read, the more help that might be able to help Mr. Tyko.
