I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for help. This is about Nala, a sweet stray cat who has already been through more than any animal should.

We found Nala after a suspected car accident. She was unable to stand. Initially, vets discovered a severe inner ear infection causing “vestibular syndrome,” which can mimic paralysis. We focused treatment on that, hoping it was the main issue. Despite our efforts, she didn’t improve.

Driven by concern, we pursued an MRI. The results were devastating and critical: Nala has a spinal fracture and a dislocation that is compressing her brainstem/cerebellum. This is the true cause of her paralysis, and it’s life-threatening. She is in constant danger, and without intervention, the outcome is unthinkable.

Yet, amidst this pain, Nala’s spirit shines. She eats gently from our hands, purrs when comforted, and fights to live. Her will is strong, but her body is failing.

The neurosurgeon is clear: emergency surgery is her only chance. It’s high-risk, complex, and costly.As individuals who took her in, this sum is insurmountable for us alone.

We are facing a terrible race against time. Every hour counts.
