Old dogs have the sweetest souls, but they often come with the heaviest medical bills.
Here at Apollo Support & Rescue, we believe every dog deserves a loving home, regardless of their age. There is something incredibly special about rescuing a senior dog—they have so much love left to give, and all they want is a soft bed and a gentle hand. However, when these older dogs come through our doors, they often bring years of neglect with them.
​Right now, we have several beautiful senior dogs in our care who desperately need specialized medical attention before they can find their forever families. We are launching this Petfundr to cover the cost of a crucial medical trifecta: senior bloodwork, spay/neuter surgeries, and dental cleanings/extractions.
​Why This Care is So Critical
​When a senior dog is rescued, we can't simply rush them into surgery. Their bodies need extra care and precaution. Here is exactly what your donation will fund:
​Senior Bloodwork : This is our first line of defense. Comprehensive blood panels tell us if their liver and kidneys are functioning properly and ensure they are healthy enough to undergo anesthesia safely.
​Spay/Neuter Surgeries: Many of the seniors we take in have never been fixed. Spaying and neutering not only prevents future litters but also eliminates the risk of certain cancers and life-threatening infections (like pyometra) in older dogs.
​Dental Procedures: This is often the most expensive and most overlooked part of senior rescue. Severe dental disease causes chronic pain, makes eating difficult, and can spread dangerous bacteria to their heart and kidneys. A proper dental cleaning and the extraction of rotting teeth literally gives these dogs a new lease on life.

​ The Reality of Rescue
​As a non-profit animal rescue, Apollo Support & Rescue operates entirely on grants, adoption fees, and the generosity of donors like you.
​The hard truth is that the adoption fee for a senior dog rarely covers even a fraction of their initial vet care. The combination of pre-op bloodwork, the surgeries themselves, and extensive dental extractions can easily cost hundreds, sometimes over a thousand dollars, per dog.Â
​We cannot do this alone. It takes a village to save a life, and we are turning to our amazing community for help.
