Hi Friends,
I am reaching out and doing my ALL to find any and all possible resources I can to be able to save Me and My 2 Children’s beloved 7 year old Family Member Lola. Lola will be 8 September 23 of this year. She was a just born puppy when she was rescued by “A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue Inc. from Alabama after a devastating Hurricane. We signed the papers and brought her home 2 Days before Christmas on December 23, 2017. And what an Amazing gift our family got for Christmas that year for sure!!! She is so loved by myself and my 2 kids and she now has newly become a basically “Mommy” to the newest addition to our Family. A 7 week old puppy was dropped off at the restaurant me and both my children work at and left there, just dropped at the Hostess stand of the restaurant by its owner right into my Daughter’s hands and then he left with no contact info. We of course took this puppy in our home with lots of love. And this puppy also gave my Dog Lola in need of help a sense of being a Mommy to this puppy and loving and embracing the new little one everyday. And our new puppy loves Lola and looks to her as her Mommy as well. Lola was chasing a ball with our new puppy the other day in the house and the ball when under the kitchen table. As the 2 raced for it, it was a bit too low for Lola and she was coming in too fast. She slid out on the tile floor and splayed her legs. Was so horrible to witness and continue witnessing her pain and suffering she is going through and on top of that the depression she is feeling now that she is in capable of moving or walking on her own and can only have very limited and monitored time now to spend with her new baby our puppy. We cannot chance the puppy trying to jump all over her as much as she would like to. I took her to Paws 2 Help for her to be checked out. She was X-rayed and diagnosed and prescribed Gabapentin. I am already struggling right now to stay afloat and pay or monthly bills and as of today June 29 I am still scrambling to get the rest of the money together to pay our mortgage payment due on July 1st. And it didn’t help I had to give up a shift at work this past Thursday to get Lola to a vet and then spend $200 on the diagnosis which hurt. For them to tell me that she needs a specialist in orthopedic surgery for dogs to help her and there was nothing left they can do. They diagnosed her with having a luxated patella, a ruptured cruciate and Spondylosis in lumbar 1-4. They advised me the surgery and care Lola will need to be a happy, healthy dog again will cost anywhere between $5,000-$7,000!!! I am and have been for the past 2 days sending Lola’s diagnosis and X-rays to orthopedic vet surgeons in the surrounding area. Some were will to give me estimated plan of treatment and cost breakdown based on the records I sent them. Others I have to pay $75-$100 to take her for the consultation first. Killing me! I’m trying so hard to apply for any possible grants I can, no luck yet. And now has come down to me having to ask Other’s for help. Anyone that knows Me knows I don’t ask for help. I figure out my own problems, issue, financial difficulties on my own and I am typically successful after a lot of hard work. But here I am not ASKING and PLEADING for HELP. I wouldn’t Ask if I wasn’t completely desperate. My dog is in pain and cannot walk at all. Time is of the essence and I cannot bear the thought of telling my Kid’s that Mommy couldn’t Fix their beloved Pup Lola. Please help Lola to get better and live a happy life and please help me from losing a family member and having to tell my kids Mommy couldn’t save her.
