The curveballs keep coming! And while we have worked hard to manage many of them, this one is requiring us to ask for help. 

A few weeks ago, Orion was playing with her bestie. As they were running outside, she turned a corner with a little too much enthusiasm and tore her ACL! With the guidance of our vet, we were hoping a couple weeks of rest and anti inflammatories would do the trick. But things just seemed to get worse. Last week we saw a joint and ortho specialist and diagnostic imaging showed that things were not as simple as we'd hoped. The injury happened because her ACL was already highly stressed and likely had been injured previously without us knowing. She is definitely going to need surgery 😔

After everything that happened the first part of the year, we were excitedly getting back on our own feet as a family. And here comes that curveball. Orion's surgery will cost $5500 plus rehabilitation treatments/physical therapy. While we will be taking advantage of a financing option, at that high of a balance our payments will be very difficult to manage in addition to everyday bills.

Anyone who has met Orion knows she is a perpetual puppy! She is happy, loving, excited, mischievous, and snuggly as can be. Orion is just over 2 years old. She has lots of life in her. Her personality is truly a shining light in our family, especially following the loss of our Ellie.

We've made our "goal" the full cost of surgery and anticipated after care. However, no matter what we receive, it will go towards the balance to cover Orion's care.
