Please help us to raise $15k for a 36' x 40' pole barn to house rescue farm animals who have received some of the worst forms of abuse and neglect at our licensed sanctuary and charitable non-profit.
Cottontail Cottage Animal Sanctuary (CCAS,) is located in Cherryfield, Maine on a beautiful 50-acre farm. While working closely with Maine State Animal Welfare, our mission is to provide compassion, respect, dignity and love to rescued farm and companion animals and to give them a place to call home. Cottontail Cottage is a vegan-operated 501(c)3, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a forever home to animals who have experienced severe abuse or neglect. We are committed to the healing, rehabilitation, and security of every animal in our care, where they can live out their lives with the love and respect that each of them deserve.
We
are so excited about the new barn and are looking for donors to help
spearhead this project. Every donation counts - big or small - and is
so greatly appreciated. With your help, we can give animals a place to
live and be loved for the rest of their lives. Together, we can let
them know what it is to be fed, cared for - and most importantly, of
all - loved. We have a beautiful spot picked out for the new barn. It
will be in the middle of a field surrounded by old pine and apple
trees. We have watched flocks of wild turkeys land there, and seen how
the ground is first touched by the morning sun. A gentle breeze blows
through the upswept branches of a nearby spruce grove and in the
background, a little creek garbles past. Further on, are more pockets
of fields and trails that wind throughout the 50-acres property
beckoning visitors onwards. It is an old wood and easy to believe that
anything could happen here - most especially, giving animals a second
chance. Looking down on top of it all - from a little knoll ( as
though it were indeed a kingdom) - is the two hundred year old house,
affectionately known as "The Rookery" (meaning:
nesting place,) where the caregivers live. Imagine yourself
here. Imagine all the lives you could help save with the addition
of a new barn.

To create a place where animals have room to heal and play,
enjoying a life filled with joy, love and kindness. Collaborating with
others to build a better world where animals’ lives are valued on
their own merit and they are likewise treated with compassion and dignity.
