We have partnered several times with the wonderful Project Freedom Ride who share our mission to rescue at need animals in poorly served areas of the USA. in our transport missions the dogs and pups were all identified at least a month in advance and in the case of this transport and the previous transport the partner Texas rescue had the pups in a foster while they underwent vaccination protocols that normally would make any outbreak of parvo highly unlikely

We’ve been extremely careful and have avoided parvo after transport for over 4 years (we have rescued some pups from the shelter who break and recover prior to transport) 

So to say this situation has devastated us is an understatement 

so far 4 of the pups have broken with parvo

Blackberry and Raspberry both required emergency hospitalization while Strawberry and Cranberry have so far only needed out patient treatment at home. Strawberry is completely recovered and Raspberry was released last night after receiving over 7000$ In treatments between York animal hospital and Orchard Park emergency hospital 

She required transfusions of Plasma and human albumin but she beat the odds and will recover in one of our experienced medical fosters 

Blackberry is in the hospital still and her bill will end up over 3000

Strawberry was 400$ at emergency 

Cranberry was 300$
