From Oliver’s owner Jaime: Seven years ago my Corgi Oliver came to your organization as Mr. Magoo with his previous owner who lived in West Virginia. He was extremely ill and the Ohio State University Veterinary Animal Hospital (OSU) diagnosed him with cerebellar abiotrophy. He also had seizures, nystagmus, ataxia, neurological pain, and severe anxiety. Shortly after the diagnosis, his owner put him on Craigslist for free (without informing Bandit’s or anyone that had helped him). He was dangerously close to falling into the wrong hands and I just kept hearing God’s voice telling me to take this poor baby. So I did, and I even gave her money for him because I felt it wasn’t right taking him for nothing. I renamed him Oliver and he’s been the light of my life ever since.

Oliver has had a number of other health issues creep up over time, including pancreatitis. He has been on a prescription diet for almost the entire time I have had him. I watch his intake like a hawk and keep Cerenia on hand at all times for flare ups, but the severity of his condition keeps getting worse.

Oliver currently has all the symptoms of a bad pancreatitis flare up.with vomiting and has bloody diarrhea. We have, unfortunately, been through this a few times and I know what to watch for and when it is at the point that he needs hospitalization. I spoke to our regular vet and he agrees that Oliver needs to be hospitalized and on IV fluids and medication to treat his inflamed pancreas. The problem is that I just do not have any way to pay for his treatment right now.



Last April my mother became quite sick and I had to quit my job to take care of her. She passed away unexpectedly, and both my father and I took it really hard. I needed to spend additional time with him before we were in a place where I could bo back to work. I used all of my resources to cover living expenses. Today I finally went back to work in a new job, and of course now Oliver is very sick. In the future I should be able to handle these emergencies but right now I really need help, because Oliver means the world to me.
