Please help us save D'artsgnan's life
Dart was a gift to my husband in 2016. Ron was recovering from a traumatic accident and had recently lost his best friend of 14 years, Beauregard. Dart is more than just a pet, he's therapeutic intervention for Ron and has been by his side to help him recover from surgeries, injuries, and strokes.
Shortly after Dart came to live with us, we discovered that he dis not have a functioning pancreas and was diagnosed with EPI. For 8 years we have been medicating his food, treating ear issues (because he's a Basset Hound) and keeping him bathed and groomed to avoid allergies.
Dart has a very happy life with his other dog and cat siblings but over the weekend he became extremely ill. He stopped eating, is extremely lethargic, and he needs emergency veterinary attention. This will include bloodwork, tests, and potentially more medication to fix whatever is wrong.
We are a multi-generational homestead and my husband and I are on very limited, fixed incomes. We are legal guardians of two grandsons, one of whom has severe Cerebral Palsy and a plethora of medical conditions. Our daughter and Son-in-law live with us, but she only works part time and he contributes as much as he can to the house while paying child support for both grandsons.
Money is not currently immediately available our liquid budget to afford the care that Dart needs so we are asking for help.
