Chi-Paw Rescue needs help covering the costs of Charlie's diagnostics
and his further treatment.
Charlie was admitted to Purdue
University hospital in Indiana and he will spend there the next few
days , during which he will be thoroughly diagnosed. Since Sunday
morning Charlie's joints are incredibly swollen , especially in the
front left leg, and unfortunately he couldn't walk. His condition
dramatically changed, the medications that our vet had just prescribed
for him on the last visit, wasn't working at all. The only option for
Charlie was to take him to a Veterinary Emergency hospital. I took him
to Purdue University in Indiana. Shortly after our arrival, Charlie
was automatically admitted to the hospital and a few hours later he
was transferred to the internal medicine unit due to his serious
condition.
Today Charlie was placed under a general anesthesia in
order to perform a CT- scan , blood was taken for various tests and of
course a urine test as well, fluids will be collected from the joints
and lymph nodes . All possible tests will be done to diagnose Charlie
as soon as possible. After talking to the doctors today, I learned
that there is an abcess inside Charlie's neck and a sample will be
taken for further diagnostics while he is still sleeping. The
situation is serious, and our rescue again this year is facing the
high costs of diagnostics and treatment for our resident . In the past
two weeks together with a bill from Elgin clinic,( including
yesterday's $ 900 deposit left at Purdue Hospital), I have spent over
$ 1,500. Charlie's Diagnostics and all tests performed with CT-scan
increased from $2000-$3000 to $ 4000 : ( Further hospitalization and
treatment for the next days will raise this amount even higher. Purdue
hospital was the only one that was able to provide a professional care
at lower prices than offered in Chicago. In IL, for such full
diagnostics with CT- scan we would now face the bill for over $10,000.
In February, we had a situation with our other resident Digo and his
bill in Emergency room jumped to $18,000 dollars and unfortunately we
cannot face such a enormous costs again. I am asking you for help and
even the smallest donation for our little Charlie. He is just 15
months old ,he grew in our rescue. Last year we rescued his mom in a
high pregnancy and Charlie along with his siblings were born in our
house. Him and his mom were kept in our rescue as a permanent
residents. Charlie is a very strong dog and he is fighting for his
dear life every minute. Please help and donate ,share or spread a word
