Our rescue friends in Brazil, have rescued a dear little pup from one of the country's poorest native Indian villages.

As we have told you in the past, these poor strays have to fend for themselves and their lives are usually short and excruciatingly hard.

A traveling doctor, who visited the village, saw this poor little girl, laying in the dirt.

She called our rescue friends and begged them to help the puppy.

Photos of the pup were sent to the rescue and it was plain to see, this little girl could not survive any longer on her own.

She had horrible black mange, dehydration, malnutrition, and a terrible infection in her private area.

Frankly, she was half dead but she managed to wag her tail at the doctor as she knelt by the puppy.

She was named Pocahontas and whisked off in the doctor's car, to the rescue's vets.

Donations are urgently needed to save Pocahontas. She's very sick and is feeling terribly unwell, but is the sweetest little thing.

She is so very grateful for a pat and a kind word and any attention at all, which she probably has never had in the past.

As usual, our rescue friends are beyond overloaded and are working hard to find a foster home for this little girl.
