Titan has the bacteria Leptospirosis (second phase). He was a little
gloomy a few days ago, he didn't want to eat anything that we gave him
(even though he loves chicken), and as the time passed he started to
throw up the things that he ate, Titan didn't want to get up from his
bed, we tried to carry him so he could go out but the mere fact of
standing up was hard for him, he feels dizzy all the time and doesn't
have energies for nothing, he's shaking. We tried to give him mush of
chicken with other things to help him, we gave him Pedialyte and tried
recommendations from vets online, but nothing was working. It was like
Titan was afraid of eating and drinking because he didn't want to
throw up.
We need your help for his treatment. The doctor examined Titan
today and gave us the heartbreaking news that he got positive for
Leptospirosis (Even though Titan is vaccinated for this, there's cases
that it doesn't work). This is a disease that causes vomiting (or
nausea), Mental fog, Stomach pain, Headaches, Fevers, Body and muscle
aches. This can lead to a second phase where the animal has kidney a
kidney or liver failure, and even have inflammations of the spinal
cord (meningitis). Titan was found to have a kidney failure. The
veterinarians said that Titan needed to stay hospitalized to recover,
and the treatment would cost around $5,000, which is out of our
budget. We find ourselves in a complicated economical situation. We
came to the USA about a year from now, and we brought Titan and Danna
(his sister) months ago from Colombia, expecting to give them the best
life as possible for a dog and enjoy happy moments with them. But this
situation is impeding us of that. That's where you come in, Titan
needs your help so he can continue being that happy dog he always was
and we can prevent more of these cases happening.
Who is TItan?
Titan is a cheerful dog, the type of dog you
see doing weird things like scratching on the sand searching for
something under it and the water from the lake just washes all the
work, but he keeps scratching. He is a loving dog, very playful,
always anxious about where you are when you get lost; a dog that gives
you unconditional love in exchange of existing.
