Lucy our sweet, loving pup who has brought so much joy into our life became very sick. After a visit to the emergency vet, we found out she needed emergency surgery on her intestines due to an intestinal blockage.
It was terrifying but she’s such a fighter. She made it through the first surgery and started the recovery process well. A few days later Lucy quickly faced some unexpected complications that required a second surgery. This second surgery came with some unexpected issues but she has was so brave through it all. Lucy is still recovering but is close to being back to her normal puppy life.
The cost of these procedures & the ongoing care quickly added up to more than we could manage on our own. Our first claim with our insurance company was denied as the surgery was placed under illness rather than injury. As we work to refile a claim, we know that there is a good chance we will be denied again. Even if insurance does assist this will only cover a portion of what we have paid.
