I live with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, symptomatic bradycardia, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which can cause sudden episodes of dizziness, fainting, fatigue, and physical instability that make daily life unpredictable and at times unsafe, especially in public or when I am alone. I previously worked with a trained service dog who helped me manage these challenges and maintain independence, but she has since passed away due to a brain tumor. I am now seeking a successor service dog to restore that essential support.

A medical alert service dog will provide critical assistance in daily life. This includes alerting to physiological changes, retrieving medication and dropped items, responding during episodes of presyncope or syncope by seeking help, and providing grounding support during instability. These tasks help bridge the gap between medical management and real-world safety, allowing me to function more independently and confidently.

While I continue to manage my conditions medically, there is no reliable way to prevent or fully control these episodes. My previous service dog provided a level of safety and stability that significantly improved my ability to participate in education, community life, and daily activities. Without a service dog, I face increased risk of injury and reduced independence, particularly in environments where immediate assistance is not available.
