On Saturday our Animal Control Division responded to a call about a puppy left on the side of the road. We responded to the call and took custody of an 6 to 8 -week-old puppy that was abandoned and left alone to die .
What we saw was beyond words. Skin and bones, labored breathing, and unable to lift her head, a puppy we've named “Norah” was on the brink of death We rushed her to our shelter for urgent medical care, she was shaking and whimpering and we weren't sure she was going to make it. We wrapped Norah in warm blankets and began IV fluids to try and give this tiny girl some life. She has been minimally responsive to our care, and she's still in critical condition but we're doing our absolute best to keep her comfortable. We're looking for anyone who may have information on Norah, or where she came from so that we can investigate this cruel act.
She has a long road ahead, and donations are more than welcome for her help
There will be several treatments necessary for her but current priority is to keep her stabilized and try to nourish her a bit. She is also Parvo positive and will need to undergo the therapy for that as well.
We are not giving up on her and we are strongly praying for her soul.
