The Story of Ziggy & His Legacy
If you’ve ever stepped foot into our home, you know Ziggy. He is a deaf, "wiggle-butt" Boxer rescue who is the heartbeat and soul of our world. Our Doggie Daycare was actually created for him; after he was rescued from a life of abuse and abandonment, his profound separation anxiety meant he could never be alone. We built a life where he’d never have to be—a legacy of joy and play for hundreds of other pups over the years.
Now, Ziggy is facing his biggest challenge yet.
The Medical Hurdle: Seeking the "20% Hope"
We recently discovered a large, 8mm inoperable mass near Ziggy's prostate. While 80% of these cases are a highly aggressive, untreatable cancer, Ziggy has already defied the odds —he tested negative for that specific BRAF-positive mutation.
He is currently in the "20% realm" of possibilities, which includes less aggressive cancers or treatable conditions. To know which path to take, we are performing a critical diagnostic test to extract fluid from the mass. Whether the answer is targeted oral chemotherapy, or specialized care to keep him comfortable and loving life, we are committed to fighting for him.
