I've gone back and forth about creating  this because asking for help has never come easily to me. But I've reached a point where my pride just isn't as important as making sure my boys get the care they need.

For those who don't know their story, Swagger and Cowboy came from a neglectful and abusive situation. They ended up in my care because the shelters and rescues were already full. The plan was always to find them loving homes, but after three years of trying, it simply hasn't happened. There are just so many unwanted animals and not enough homes for all of them.

I've done everything I can to love them and provide for them. But after my work hours were drastically cut, I've hit a wall financially, and both boys now need medical care that's beyond what I can afford.

I'm worried about Swagger. I suspect he may be dealing with kidney issues and possibly anemia from the severe neglect he suffered before he came to me. He's had blood in his urine and possibly in his stool, and he needs blood work, diagnostics, and whatever treatment follows.

I'm also very concerned about Cowboy. He's always had a healthy appetite, but lately he barely wants to eat. Anyone who knows him knows that's not like him at all. He needs blood work and diagnostics too because something just doesn't seem right.

I've spent hours looking into grants and financial assistance programs, but we either don't qualify or I've run into one dead end after another. Veterinary care has become so expensive, and I know so many families are facing the heartbreaking reality of not being able to afford the care their pets need.

If you know me, you know asking for help is one of the hardest things for me to do. I've always tried to figure things out on my own. But this isn't about me—it's about Swagger and Cowboy. They depend on me, and I'm not going to let my pride stand in the way of getting them the help they need.
