AWARE has now been operating for over 20 years on our woodland site just outside Sumpango. Over the years the installations have grown, and these days include many dog pens, a vet clinic, a storehouse, quarters for volunteers, and an office. We have been so intent on providing the necessary infrastructure that we are now being confronted with some serious repair-work – for example the main entrance, whose concrete bridge over the municipal irrigation ditch deteriorates daily, and is currently passable only by brave and very careful drivers.   Our workers can carry out the repairs, but need large quantities of materials – mainly cement, and huge concrete tubes, as well as the time it’s going to take for all that digging. Meanwhile repairs to existing dog pens have had to be suspended.
