Lil’ Mama and Big Papa found us at Battle Park in Rocky Mount, NC, on February 28th. When they initially ran up to us, we figured they must belong to someone else at the park, but no one that was around claimed them or seemed to know who they belonged to. Our next assumption was that they were dumped there, which is sadly a common occurrence in the area. They were dirty and underweight, but super friendly. We knew that we needed to do something to help them, so as they ran freely around the park, we kept going in the same direction in hopes that we could lure them to our car. We lost sight of them a few times, but upon reaching the parking lot, they were right there next to our car, as if they were waiting for us to take them home. 

After doing all of our due diligence in attempting to locate an owner, we started working with Rocky Mount Animal Advocates (RMAA), who were able to help them get the vet care they needed - they are now fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered. 

Since coming into our care over a month ago, they’ve made amazing progress and their personalities have really started to shine. Although they lack training and need some work, both dogs are incredibly affectionate and just want to be around people—they truly deserve a stable, loving home. 

While we have learned more about their past, we prefer not to share those details publicly and want to instead focus on what matters most: their future. They are two incredibly sweet, gentle dogs who are ready for their next chapter.

Right now, Mama and Papa are still staying with us, but our setup isn’t a long-term solution. We are continuing to care for them daily—providing food, supplies, and a safe place to stay—while we search for the right placement.

They can be adopted together or separately, and we’re committed to finding the best possible fit for each of them. 

We’re asking for help in two ways:

• Donations to support their ongoing daily care (food, supplies, and essentials)
• Shares to help us reach someone who can give them the forever home they deserve

Mama and Papa have already come so far. Now they just need someone to give them a place to belong.
