Trikala Animal Welfare Society O Argos is a non profit, no kill, dog and animal rescue welfare. Serving Trikala (Northern Greece) and surrounding areas, run solely by unpaid volunteers. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless and on the streets for whatever reason. Those we can not find room for inside the shelter due to lack of space, are fed daily and receive veterinary care when needed. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Those that we consider not adoptable, for whatever reason, will stay in the shelter for the rest of their lives. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, to the extent our finances allow. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. They receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment. Spaying and neutering the dogs outside the shelter are our priority. As they are free roaming and produce many litters each year. Our welfare is run completely by unpaid volunteers. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations. Our welfare remains involved with and committed to the welfare of the dog beyond the adoption process. Lastly, we strive to make any donations go as far as possible. Every penny goes to the animals in our care and on the streets.
