Forest, an 8 week old German Shepherd Dog, was brought to the Corgipalooza Rescue for help by a lovely couple who pulled him from a bad situation off Craigslist. He had severe swimmer puppy syndrome on his front legs. It is a rare condition in which a puppy is unable to physically stand or walk. Forest’s front legs were completely splayed outward and he rested on his thorax. He did have use of his hind legs thankfully. This condition can be treated successfully if action is taken early on, but Forest came from a backyard breeder that did nothing to address it. 



Bandit’s K9Care has partnered with Corgipalooza to help with Forest’s diagnosis and treatment plan. Forest has seen a veterinary specialist who confirmed the condition and developed a treatment plan. Forest was put in a quad cart provided by our cart program KC’s Kruisers. He took to it right away!  (See posted video.)



The specialist put Forest in soft casts but the pup proved too active to keep them on, so special braces were purchased. And Forest began physical therapy. Forest’s wonderful foster also worked with the puppy doing exercises at home from the day she took him in.

Forest has already progressed substantially since he was brought to Corgipalooza. Your donations will ensure that Forest can continue his treatment and therapy until he can walk without any help, and is ready to be adopted and lead a long, happy and healthy life!
